And the winner is...

Hardys Wines proudly awards the 2007 Hardys Amateur Chef of the Year title and £10,000 kitchen make-over to Mr. James Aitchison for his original recipe and Hardys wine match.

In the first year of The Hardys Amateur Chef of the Year competition we received a great number of truly outstanding recipe and wine matches. From these, four talented finalists from across the nation were invited to Shane Osborn’s 2 Star Michelin restaurant, Pied à Terre in London, to prepare their dishes and wine matches for our panel of judges.

The competition was tough, but there could only be one winner! The 2007 Amateur Chef of the Year title was awarded to Mr. James Aitchison of Reading for his Saddle of lamb stuffed with sweetbread & tapenade, served with minted pea risotto & olive jus, complemented with Hardys VR Cabernet Sauvignon.
